We are into Upstream Operations -Winner and Operator of the former CNL Ajapa Marginal Field
In furtherance with Brittania-U’s business object as contained in its Memorandum of Association that is to say, Petroleum as core business, the Company in 2001, submitted a bid for a marginal field award in response to the initiative of the Federal Government to involve indigenous petroleum companies in the upstream sector of the industry.
After the processes of Pre-qualification, presentation of the Technical and Commercial bids for the Ajapa Marginal Field, made by the Company, it was awarded 100% interest in and the Operatorship of the Ajapa Marginal Field in Oil Mining Lease (OML) No 90 as per letter (Reference No. PIGMC/1138/V.1/11 - dated February 26th, 2003), from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Among the conditions of the award of the Ajapa Marginal Field, is that Brittania-U shall enter into a Farm-out Agreement (FOA with the leaseholders of OML 90; these being the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL). Such FOA (dated 18th March 2004) has indeed been executed between NNPC and CNL on the one part as “Farmor” and Brittania-U as the “Farmee” on the other part.
