Osaze Peter Odemwigie and West Bromwich Albion travelled down to the DW Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic. Osaze had to settle for a place on the substitute bench, coming on for Irish striker, Shane Long in the second half. West Brom won 2-1.

Victor Anichebe was left out of Everton’s squad for the Sunderland game which they won 2-1.

Queens Park Rangers’ horrendous start to the campaign continued as they lost to Stoke City this time, Charlie Adam scored the only goal of the game. Nedum Onuoha was named on the substitute’s bench for the London side.

Former captain of Newcastle United, Kevin Nolan returned to haunt his old club at Saint James Park on Sunday, scoring the lone goal of the encounter for his current employers, West Ham United. New Eagles invite, Shola Ameobi replaced Senegalese striker, Papiss Cisse on 45th minute.

Chelsea failed in their bid to close the gap on League leaders, Manchester United when they entertained Liverpool at home. John Mikel Obi anchored the midfield for the host and miscued an effort to double Chelsea’s tally and score his first goal in 170 appearances after Captain Maverick, John Terry had put his side ahead, getting on Juan Mata’s corner. Mikel was made to rue that miss when Luis Suarez poked in Liverpool’s equaliser at the back post after a flick on from Jamie Carragher. The match ended 1-all. Victor Moses came off the bench for Oscar in the 77th minute.
