Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has announced Nigeria’s Confederations Cup squad. He made nine changes from the 23-man team that lifted the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year.
With Emmanuel Emenike and Victor Moses missing through injury, Keshi opted for youth instead of experienced, leaving out International stars like Joseph Yobo, Osaze Odemwingie and Obafemi Martins.
The squad list, released by the country’s football governing body, the Nigerian Football Federation, on Friday, consists of four uncapped players plus five more who made their debut for the Super Eagles in a friendly against the Tri Color of Mexico a week ago.
Nigeria will face Namibia in a World Cup qualifier next Wednesday in Windhoek before jetting off to Brazil to take on Tahiti, Uruguay and Spain at the Confederations Cup.
