Davido, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lupita Nyong’O, Win Big at 2014 BET Awards

Some African entertainers including Nigeria’s pop star, Davido; British-Nigerian actor, ChiwetelEjiofor; and Kenya’s actress, LupitaNyong’O emerged winners at the just concluded BET Awards.

Davido beat other African artistes including Tiwa Savage, South Africa’s Mafikizolo, Ghana’s Sarkodie, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Togo’s Toofan to win the “Best International Act- Africa”.

Earlier in June, Davido also won the ‘Best African Act’ award at the MTV Africa Music Awards.

An excited Davido announced he won via his @iam_Davido Twitter handle, tweeting, “Thanks to all my fans!! WE WON”.

“12 Years a Slave” was chosen as best movie, with the film’s stars, Lupita Nyong’o
and Chiwetel Ejiofor, walking home with Best Actress and Best Actor respectively.

Other winners at the awards includeBeyonce who won three awards, including the 2014 FANdemonium award.
