Register for the Google #Hash Code Challenge

Google is giving students and professional coders a chance to win big with their coding skills. The global tech giant has announced the opening of its Hash Code Challenge, a global competition involving thousands of participating teams.

Hash Code will test team’s ability to proffer code-based solutions to real life problems; competitors will be tasked with engineering challenges, which they will tackle on their PCs with any programming language and tools of their choice. The competition has two rounds:

  1. The Online Qualification Round, which will hold on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Working from any of the contest’s designated hubs (or from a location of their choice), teams will have a go at the problems Google throws at them. If they’re able to get through this round with top marks, they’ll qualify for the final round.
  2. The Final Round, slated for Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Google Paris. Here, teams from across the world which have scaled the Online Qualification Round will slug it out for the honour of being crowned champions of the Hash Code challenge.

Winners of the competition will be awarded prizes from Google. They’ll also get to learn more about the company as participants in a number of talks and presentations.

If you’re interested in taking part in the Hash Code challenge, you can register your team via the Hash Code website. A list of hubs for Nigeria can be found there as well.

You have until Monday, February 20 to get your team signed up for the contest.
