With the prepaid meter customers simply buy units which they load to their meter and use until the units are exhausted; in simple terms it’s a pay as you go method.

Steps to get a Prepaid Meter
- Go to the Electric Distribution Company nearest to you and collect a meter application form. The Meter form will be given to you by the Electric Sales Department.
- Fill the meter application form with a valid form of identification.
- Submit the form to the Electric Sales Representative.
- The meter is usually installed within 45 days as long as all the requirements and procedure are implemented.
Note: Meter application form and installation is supposed to be FREE. However the customer might have to cover the installation charges.
