Banana Cream Recipe

The cream of banana, is a highly gratifying dish, as the name implies it is creamy and smooth it could serve as dessert for those who are trying to care for their stomach, due to the high iron content in bananas, they are good for those suffering from anaemia. ‘Anaemia’ is a condition where there is a decrease in the number of red blood cells or haemoglobin in the blood. This leads to fatigue, shortness of breath, and paleness. The dish has very little amount of fat or cholesterol, and it is especially good for the stomach because it is easy to digest and neutralise excessive gastric acidity, the meal also contains low salt level and high potassium level which benefits the heart and kidneys greatly. Those who suffer from fluid retention and high blood pressure can especially benefit from this delicious meal. The meal is an instant energy booster and has high fibre content both soluble and insoluble. The soluble fibre has the tendency to slow down digestion and keep you feeling full for a longer time. The meal is also excellent for breakfast and is a more healthy option to custard.


  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • 3 cups of skimmed milk
  • ½ cup of lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 3 cups of water
  • Salt (optional)


  • Peel the bananas, making sure no parts of the peel is left
  • Cut the bananas into chunks
  • Combine the entire ingredients in a blender and blend until very smooth
  • Pour the mixture into a pot, and cook on very low heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly to ensure it doesn’t stick
  • Serve hot in soup bowls
