Super Eagles and Chelsea forward, Victor Moses, has expressed his disappointment at the end result of Chelsea’s match up against Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge, in their final Group C, UEFA Champions League game on Tuesday.
The Blues were behind by a goal in the 56th minute, but managed to equalize in the 75th minute through an own goal, and were forced to a 1-1 draw against Athletico Madrid.
Athletico’s goal came from Saul Niguez, 11 minutes into the second half, after the first half of the game ended in a goalless draw.
In the 75th minute, an own goal by Stefan Savic gave Chelsea a fighting chance, but they failed to take advantage of the opportunity, even as William missed a crucial shot.
Chelsea was on top of their group but with this slip-up, lost the leadership position, and finished with 11 points, same as group leader AS Roma, who had beaten the Blues with goal difference.
Atletico Madrid also suffered a setback, due to the draw, the La Liga club was dropped to the Europa League because they failed to hold up their lead against Chelsea.
Victor Moses, who played full 90 minutes of the game took to his Twitter account to express his displeasure with the match result. He also encouraged his teammates and praised their resilience.
“Disappointed to not take all three points but we never stop fighting,” he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
