Startup Arewa Partners with Favcode54.Org to Train 5000 Software Developers for Free

Startup Arewa, the Northern Nigerian technology ecosystem is partnering with Favcode54, a US based NGO with a goal to Empower Africa through technology and to train 5000 passionate people who wish to go into software development and programming.

The training is free. There’ll be unlimited internet access and free software licenses for all participants.

FavCode54 aims to teach, mentor, and build the next generation of African software developers, using everyday people with no previous skills and turning them into tech geniuses, fully equipped to work either with tech companies in their local communities or globally.

A team of seasoned mentors, who are great developers in themselves with lots of industry experience, will be involved in teaching and training the students in becoming experts at Software development, and guiding them through their chosen career path. Some of the mentors are currently working with companies like Facebook, Google, IBM, Twitter, snap chat and more.

Whatever technology it is you’re interested in – web, mobile, data science, algorithms, UI/UX, and so on, you can be rest assured you’ll be properly taught to become an expert in it.
