Ahmed Musa’s cool finish for Nigeria against Iceland at the Volgograd Arena has been nominated alongside 17 other goals for the Russia 2018 World Cup Goal of the tournament.
The 25-year old Leicester City forward threw in his pace and brilliant ball-handling skill to drive home a long pass he received through the Icelandic defenses to give Nigeria her lone victory in Russia.
Musa’s goal for the Eagles will be competing against goals from other top players like Portugal duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma, Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Croatia captain and Golden Ball winner Luka Modric, Spain defender Nacho and Brazil’s Philipe Coutinho.
Other selected players for their brilliant goal efforts in the tourney include, Russia’s attackers Denis Cheryshev, Artem Dzyuba, France’s Benjamin Pavard, Belgium trio of Adnan Januzaj, Dries Mertens and Nacer Chadli, England’s Jesse Lingard, Germany’s Toni Kroos and Colombia’s Juan Quintero.

Fans are expected to vote for the best goal here. The winning goal will be announced after voting closes on July 23, according to a statement from FIFA.
