He started playing at Slippery Lounge, Lekki, at 6.00pm on Monday 20th August and will end on Wednesday, 5th September to create a new record. He is expected to play a continuous rotation of songs, without stopping longer than ten seconds in between songs.

The DJ who intends to break the current record held by another Nigerian, Agboola Venmak aka DJ Venum, plans to play continuously for sixteen days; one day more than Venum’s record.

DJ Venum became the world’s longest playing DJ on August 15, 2018, after beating yet another Nigerian DJ,Obinna Ajuonuma, popularly known as DJ Obi, who had overthrown Polish national, Norbert Selmaj, aka Norberto Loco’s record in July 2016.  DJ Obi beat Noberto’s 2014 two hundred hours record by forty hours.

DJ Blinky has been disc jockeying since his secondary school days in Port Harcourt, and has worked with popular private-owned radio “Raypower”. He is also a choreographer, sound engineer and an event manager who has also worked with artistes such as Burna Boy and Wacomzy.

Adoo comes from a family that does not see music as a lucrative venture. He mentioned that his family is oblivious of his attempt to set a world record, and intends to let them know when he commences his tour, which is expected to follow after his big achievement.
