Following the success of Omoni Oboli’s movie series, Wives on Strike, the actress and filmmaker has released the trailer for her brand new movie, Moms at War.
The movie stars Omoni Oboli and Funke Akindele as two very competitive parents in the same neighbourhood, who are always at each other’s neck, and ever protective of the interests of their children.
Ebubechukwu is played by Oboli; a posh career woman who was born into a wealthy home. She feels that Olaide (Akindele), a self-made businesswoman, does not match her social class, and loathes the fact that they live in the same neighbourhood.
According to CEO of Film One, Moses Babatope:
“Having had many successful collaborations with Inkblot, we were pleased to continue the partnership on ‘Moms at War’. We have worked with Dioni Visions and Omoni Oboli for many years and are happy to announce our first collaboration with her. ‘Moms at War’ is the perfect film for women and everyone else, as it cloaks in comedy the wars our mothers wittingly and unwittingly fight for us, every day.”
Oboli has had a string of nominations and awards, most recent of them are the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress In Leading Role for the movie Fifty, Best Actress of the Year (2016), Face of Nollywood (2016 and 2017) and Best Movie Producer of the Year 2017, all at the City People Awards.
Moms at War is a classic comedy filled tale of friendship and motherhood. It stars Eucheria Anunobi, Michelle Dede, Yul Edochie, Abayomi Alvin and Adebukola Oladipupo.
The movie is written by Naz Onuzo and directed by Omoni Oboli, and scheduled for release in cinemas on August 17, 2018.
