Google Chrome Gets New UI Design for Its 10th Anniversary

Chrome is 10! Hurrah!!! Your favourite web browser and RAM hog just turned 10 and Google is not being quiet about it. Which is why the search giant is pushing the latest Chrome release, Chrome 69, to users. The latest version of the versatile web browser is replete with new features, especially its redesigned user interface.

Chrome 69 brings a new look to the decade-old browser. The new UI is featured across all platforms— desktop, Android, and iOS— and is characterized by rounded shapes, new icons and a new colour palette. It is the first time since 2008 the popular browser has received major updates that are about to change the user experience. Google promises the new UI changes will improve productivity.

Chrome 69 also comes bundled with an improved password manager. Chrome can now generate secure passwords for a quicker sign-up experience. You must also be logged in to your Google account to use the new feature. Also, Chrome auto-fill for passwords, addresses, and credit card numbers is now better. All your personal data is saved to your Google account, which can also now be accessed directly from the Chrome toolbar.

The address bar in the Chrome browser, which is also known as Omnibox, will now display search results right in the address bar as you type your search query. This feature is limited to the queries related to celebrities, weather, sports or figures. Search for a website in your Omnibox and Chrome will tell you if it’s already open and let you jump straight to it with “Switch to tab.”

Google also added some 40 security improvements in the new update. The company also hinted that future updates will bring smart web browsing with the help of artificial intelligence.

You can update to the latest version of Chrome to enjoy the new features.
