The announcement was made by the Central Working Committee, as they also ensured that the tournament will be the best experience yet for both players and fans. Following on their plans to use social media as a tool to increase the popularity of the game, the committee, launched a commercial on the championship’s official Twitter and Instagram pages on Monday.
Fans who purchase their tickets online will be able to pick them up at the entrance of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club from 29th September when the competition serves off.
For those who purchase their tickets online — Regular – ₦1,500, VIP – ₦5,000 — the committee has promised preferential packing and an opportunity to buy refreshments from the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, at members’ price.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) approved tournament, formerly known as the Governor’s Cup, consists of two legs, the Future 4 and Future 5.
Qualifying matches for the Future 4 begin on 29th September, while the main draw will be held on the 1st of October and the final on 6th October. For the Future 5, main draws will take place on the 8th of October with the grand final on 13th October, where the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, is expected to close the tournament.
