Carmart Nigeria is an online marketplace that connects dealers looking to sell cars and motorcycles, and people interested in purchasing those vehicles.
The platform exists to make the processes of car purchase and sales easier for the parties involved. By leveraging the web, Carmart enables buyers and sellers to initiate transactions from wherever they are. Dealers can put up vehicles for sale and fix prices for them, and prospective buyers can view these listings and select the ones they prefer.

Nigerians love their cars. And they’ve been buying more of them in the past couple of decades. In 2018, the number of registered cars in Nigeria increased by about 200,000 from the previous year to about 11.8 million cars. That number is projected to continue growing over the next few years.
In meeting the growing demand for vehicles in Nigeria, Carmart also wants to pave a path to the future for the country’s automotive industry. By leveraging digital technology and the internet, it’s making more options available to buyers, reducing seller’s customer acquisition costs, and minimizing market inefficiencies.
Carmart says that it’s able to improve car dealers’ access to the market because it deploys SEO and other techniques that increase the online visibility of dealer’s listings. It promises sellers on its platform that they can reach up to 20,000 auto shoppers all over Nigeria daily.
Car dealers registered on Carmart can have their offers presented to more than 100,000 email addresses. They also get exposure via the website, which, according to Carmart, has more than 534,000 visits monthly. There’s an extra advantage conferred by its social media outlets, with followers exceeding 40,000 individuals.

Sellers may gain varying degrees of exposure on the platform, depending on the dealership plan they sign up for. These plans are offered by Carmart, and are priced according to the services they make available to subscribers.
There’s the VIP Dealership plan, which guarantees unlimited car and motorcycle listings on the site, unlimited boosts to those listings, two blog posts, and regular social media appearance; the Platinum Dealership plan, which provides unlimited listings plus boosts for 25 car listings; and the Silver Dealership plan, which comes with an ad banner on the Carmart blog, and on-page features for 10 car listings, among others.
Individual car sellers can also list their cars for sale on the website. They could benefit from the reach that Carmart affords, and the well-defined audience that it caters to.
Carmart’s online marketplace for vehicles is gaining recognition within and outside the world of tech and automotive business. In 2019, it was named one of Nigeria’s Top 100 Emerging SMEs by Connect Nigeria. It took a place on the list after being voted for by its enthusiasts. This was after it had scaled a screening process involving thousands of businesses.
Carmart looks set to expand its operations in the next few years. It could bring on more dealers from all over the country and eventually spread its tentacles to other parts of the African continent.
