Alongside Nigeria, 11 other countries have been invited for this year’s edition of the tournament, which will take place in the Southern coastal city of Larnaca.
South Africa, Thailand, and Italy, who will also be at the France 2019 World Cup, will be joining Nigeria at the 12-nation invitational.
Other teams include, host country, Cyprus, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, North Korea, Mexico and Slovakia.
The Falcons begin their campaign today against Austria, after which they will face Slovakia on March 1, then take on Belgium in another three days.
Speaking to CAFOnline.com, Super Falcons Assistant coach, Maureen Mmadu, is assured that the tournament will give the team the much needed training and boost as the preparations of France 2019 continues.
“This tournament in Cyprus is another opportunity to have a look at the players that we are likely to take to the World Cup in France and I can say that our preparation towards the World Cup is well on course.
“The inclusion of Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie is a big boost because they were not available when we played at the last China Women’s Tournament and I believe we are going to improve very well as we build up towards the World Cup in France.”
