Business Events of the Month: March 2019

The first quarter of 2019 draws to a close this month. If you’re still struggling to act on your resolutions for your enterprise and career this year, you know it’s time to ramp up your efforts and really get down to business on those pledges you’ve made to yourself.

Attending the business events lined up for the month of March could help you speed things up in this direction. You could rack up sales as a vendor at a trade show, make valuable industry connections at conferences, and learn a few new things that’ll aid your growth in the coming months.

A number of events have been rescheduled from the first week of March because of the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections slated to hold within that period. However, there’s a lot to choose from in the other weeks. Business events will make a strong comeback, and set the tone for much of the rest of the year.

Here’s our selection of the key business events you can attend this March.

1. Multimodal

This is an event for transport, logistics, and supply chain companies, organized in conjunction with the Nigerian Ports Authority, Federal Ministry of Transportation, and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria. Exhibitors will be showcasing products from freight transport and security systems, warehouse management, packaging, e-business, and telecommunications- basically, companies involved with logistic processes.

The organizers say they expect over 3,000 cargo owners, shippers, exporters, and importers to attend the event. They’re presenting it as an opportunity for businesspeople to connect with potential high-level partners and leads, and increase the public’s awareness of their brands.

Date: 12-14 March 2019

Venue:  The Landmark Exhibition Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

2. Nigeria Manufacturing and Equipment Expo

The fourth edition of the Nigeria Manufacturing Equipment Expo holds this year at the Landmark Exhibition centre. The event is currently being publicized as ‘the annual meeting place for manufacturers in Nigeria,’ and consists of panel discussion sessions and exhibitions encompassing the manufacturing value chain.

Attendees at the event could number well over 3,000 this year. They’ll get the chance to strike deals and take up bargains with about 120 exhibitors, and gain smart problem-solving insights from the speakers lined up for the conference.

3. Nigeria Raw Material Expo

This year, the Nigeria Raw Material Expo will be spread over three days and will take in exhibitions, plenary discussions, and masterclasses. These sessions present medium and large scale industries with an opportunity to source raw materials from suppliers; that’s because those suppliers will be at the show, putting their products on display and networking with prospective clients.

This expo is supported by several key organizations and government bodies, including the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), SMEDAN, BOI, and the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.

Besides the exhibitions, there will also be three days of speeches and panel discussions involving respected figures from the European and African food and agriculture industries.
