FIFA U-20 WC: Richard’s Confident Flying Eagles Can Deliver

Although he was excluded from the Flying Eagles’ final 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup list, Liepaja of Latvia striker, Emeka Richard, believes the team can pull a championship upset in Poland.

Nigeria will do battle with Qatar in Tychy on May 24, before they take on United States of America and Ukraine  on May 27, and May 30, respectively.

Nigeria has never lifted the FIFA U-20 trophy, but the Flying Eagles have finished as runner-ups of the global tournament on two occasions, in 1989 and 1995.

The Nigeria national U-20 team gaffer, Paul Aigbogun, has selected a bevy of talented players to represent Nigeria at the games which is expected to be the most enthralling FIFA U-20 World Cup, yet.

Richard expects team Nigeria to do the nation proud in Poland.

As a player, I am not happy that I was not invited to camp for the World Cup but one thing is for sure, everybody cannot play at the same time,

The coach did a great job and the squad he selected will deliver. My own time for the national team will come, that is what I am sure of.

For now, my major concern is on how to improve my career daily and by the grace of God, I am doing my best.” — Emeka Richard

The 18 year old forward has scored nine goals for his club and provided six assists for Liepaja of Latvia so far this season.
