Democracy Day

Wednesday, June 12 2019, was Democracy day and Nigerians took the opportunity to reflect on the current situation of the country and their hopes for a better Nigeria. It may also go down as one of the most memorable days in Nigerian history as President Buhari used the platform to announce the renaming of the Abuja National Stadium as Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

Ahmed Lawan

The race for the 9th Senate had earlier seen Senator Danjuma Goje step down leaving Senators Ahmed Lawan and Uba Sani as the major contenders. A week later, Senator Ahmed Lawan was elected Senate President beating Senator Ali Ndume during a closed ballot election. Lawan won 79 votes while Ndume finished with a comparative smaller 28 votes.

Between FFK And The Church Of Satan

Twitter went wild this week after a hilarious exchange between popular Nigerian politician Femi Fani Kayode and the Church of Satan went viral. In a now-deleted tweet, the politician had mentioned the controversial organization which they responded to and an argument ensued.

Peruzzi vs.  Pamilerin

Popular social media influencer Pamilerin Adegoke took to Twitter to narrate his alleged ordeal in the hands of singer Peruzzi. Pamilerin claimed he was about to leave Bayelsa for Lagos after an event when he was accosted by one of Peruzzi’s bouncer’s and subsequently slapped by the singer. Peruzzi has, however, responded with a tweet but also explained his own side of the story
