Connect Nigeria Writers’ Conference: Translating Writing into Money

September is the first month in the last quarter of the year. It is the beginning of what is generally known in Nigeria as the mber months. For many people, September is a time for sober reflection. This is largely because most people who had gone through the annual ritual of goal setting bury their goals in the grave of procrastination.  So, when September comes, they are forced to confront the reality of the year’s end without the achievement of set goals. In a bid to meet up, the goals are reviewed; where necessary, new strategies are adopted for its achievement.

For writers, the month of September will be memorable. It carries in its womb a gift of inestimable value which it would bequeath to the writer who disposes himself to receive it. That gift is the gift of exposure to money making opportunities in the field of writing. The Connect Nigeria Writers’ Conference is that gift from the gods to writers. Thus, if you are a writer or an aspiring writer with a habit of procrastination or you want to learn how to hone or monetize your writing skills, then, you should attend the fourth edition of the Connect Nigeria Writers’ Conference.

This event is scheduled to hold on the 21st of September, 2019 at Seedspace, Ikoyi, Lagos. This year’s edition of the conference is tagged, “The Business of Writing, Translating Writing into Money.” It parades speakers like Sally Kenneth-Dadzie, Efe Paul Azino, Joey Akan, Dare Olaitan, and Tomilola Coco Adeyemo. These writers are drawn from different fields of writing and they will enlighten participants on practical ways of making money from writing. At the conference, writers will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, form partnerships and excel in the tech driven world in which they live. Attendance is free for participants and there would be workshop sessions for participants interested in poetry and fiction.

I’ll like to conclude with the profound words of Theodore Roosevelt that far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. So, if you consider writing work worth doing and you want to make sustainable income out of your passion for writing, plan to attend the Connect Nigeria Writers’ Conference.
