NPFL: Plateau United Maintain Top Spot After Rangers Draw

Nigeria Professional Football League defending champions, Enyimba FC, held Lobi Stars of Makurdi to a 1-1 draw in their matchday-nine encounter in Aba on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. A Samad Kadiri nodding in the 77th minute gifted the visitors the lead, but an instant response from Enyimba saw Victor Mbaoma equalize for the host.

Elsewhere, Plateau United maintained top spot in the league table after playing out a goalless draw against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu. In Okigwe (Imo State), visiting Kano Pillars held Heartland to a 1-1 draw at the Okigwe Township Stadium. Ugochukwu Leonard gifted the hosts the lead in just three minutes after the break, but an equalizer with five minutes left to play ensured the Sai Masu Gida (Kano Pillars) shared the spoils with the hosts.

Dakkada FC continued with their impressive form this season, playing out a 0-0 draw in Katsina against Katsina United. The Uyo-based side maintained their position as second on the league log. At the Warri City Stadium, a sixth minute goal from Victory Omodiagbe was all Warri Wolves needed to secure the three maximum points against Wikki Tourist of Bauchi.
