Nigerians In Sports: Wilfred Ndidi Rated 10th Most Expensive Defensive Midfielder In The World

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been ranked the 10th most expensive defensive midfielder in the world. Information from the latest transfer market report suggests that the Leicester City FC of England midfielder who recorded the highest number of interceptions in the 2018/2019 English Premier League season sit 10th on the world’s most expensive defensive midfielders transfer log.

The Super Eagles midfielder’s market value is currently worth 45 million Euros. Ndidi, alongside the duo of Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria and Lucas Torreira of Arsenal FC are jointly positioned in tenth place with all three valued at 45 million Euros.

The Nigerian midfield maestro is also ranked the most expensive Nigerian footballer currently, alongside his Super Eagles teammate and Everton FC star, Alex Iwobi, with both players priced at 28.80 million Euros. The Super Eagles duo of Samuel Chukwueze who plies his trade at Villareal CF, Spain, and Lille OSC of France striker, Victor Osimhen, jointly sit second at 27 million Euros each. Meanwhile, Ndidi who has been ruled out of play in recent weeks due to injury has been declared fit by Leicester City Manager, Brendan Rodgers to feature in tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg match against Aston Villa, away at Villa Park.
