Held in a glamorous fashion, it was a night of glitz as celebrities trooped out looking highly ravishing in costumes as they assembled to celebrate great achievers and achievements in the African movie industry in the course of the year in review. The event was full of entertainment, glamour, and red carpet extravaganza as the continent’s biggest film and television stars thrilled fans with their exceptional fashion display and style.

Seasoned event hosts, IK Osakioduwa and Amina Abdi Rabar hosted the event organized by Africa Magic in collaboration with MultiChoice. High profile Nollywood film ‘’Living in Bondage,’’ was the biggest winner of the night, bagging a total of seven awards inclusive of the Best Overall Movie and Best Director which saw Nigerian movie legend, Ramsey Nouah emerge as the best director.

For the Best Actor in a Drama category, Timini Egbuson had the day while Toyin Abraham emerged as the Best Actress in a Drama. Both winners emerged for their outstanding performances in the movie ‘’Elevator Baby.’’ The Night’s biggest surprise was Nollywood hit movie “King of Boys,” which failed to win an award despite public love for the film which saw Sola Sobowale display extreme master class. Also, the special awards category saw Big Brother Naija season 4 winner, Mercy Eke, emerge as the Best Dressed Female, while Mike Edwards emerged as the Best Dressed Male.
