The uLesson app offers students in SS1, SS2 and SS3 a holistic learning experience in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, preparing them for Senior Secondary School Exams such as WAEC, NECO, GCE exams. Hence, a postponement of the SSCE exams does not mean learning cannot be better reinforced.

  • Kolibri:

Kolibri makes high quality education technology available in low-resource communities such as rural schools, refugee camps, orphanages, non-formal school systems, and prison systems. Kolibri has been designed to operate on many devices and operating systems, can be used for offline uses and self-paced learning.

  • Khan Academy:

Khan Academy is another edtech website and app that provides free, world-class education to everyone, everywhere. This personalized learning experience is provided through lessons that are put in short videos that keep the users engaged while not boring them. Khan Academy has resources for pupils and students in various levels of education while also providing some courses on some subject for students in tertiary education. You can access Khan Academy on their website or through the mobile app.

  • Scratch:

Scratch is a block-based visual programming language and website. The main target of the language is for children to get acquainted with the idea of programming. With the language and website, users of the site can create online projects using a block-like interface of different codes that tell the computer what to do.

An additional resource for the Scratch that will help as a guide for writing codes and designing games is the Google CS First. The Google CS First is an easy to use resource that can be handled by an adult or older child with little or no previous knowledge of Scratch. The older child or adult can then use the same resource to direct a younger child on how to navigate the site and build projects.

Now is the time to engage your children with computer based learning and give them a leverage above their peers. Many of the resources I shared with you have a mobile platform that can be downloaded on your mobile phone or tablets.

“Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing.”

Denis Waitley

While everything is happening all over the world, don’t be part of the people that fold their hands and do nothing while they watch the world pass before their eyes. Rather be part of the select few who turn around their disadvantaged position to work out for them by taking deliberate, and conscious steps to improve on themselves and be better than they were yesterday.
