Super Falcons of Nigeria defender, Osinachi Ohale, has joined Italian side, AS Roma, from her former Spanish club, Tacon (now Real Madrid). In an official statement issued on the Italian club’s website on Thursday, July 30, 2020, the news of the signing of the highly experienced Nigerian defender was made public.

“The AS Roma Women’s Team is pleased to announce the signing of Osinachi Ohale. The 28-year-old Nigerian comes to Rome after spending the last season at Tacon, a team that has now become Real Madrid. Ohale is the third new arrival in the yellow and red after Paloma Lazaro and Rachele Baldi.”
Commenting on her new adventure, Ohale stated that her love for the club, city of Rome, and Italy as a country, was behind her resolve to join the club.

“I chose Roma for many positive aspects of the club, the city and the country. That made me want to come. I think it will be a great experience for me to face new challenges.”
The four-time Africa Women’s Cup of Nation (AWCON) winner who has also featured in three FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments for the Super Falcons, is delighted at such important career move. Notable as one of the best football defenders in the history of women’s football in Nigeria and Africa, Ohale in the past has featured for clubs such as Huston Dash in the United States, before moving to Sweden to play for Vittsjo and later, Vaxjo. Prior to travelling abroad for her career, she featured for Rivers Angels and Delta Queens in the Nigeria Women’s Premier League (NWPL), winning the league on two occasions with the later.
