Nigerian superstar musician, Burna Boy, is set to feature in the inauguration ceremony playlist of the 46th President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, today, January 20, 2021. Burna Boy’s track ‘’Destiny’’ will be played alongside other global acts such as Kygo, Tame Impala, and Dua Lipa.

President-elect Biden’s inauguration playlist was curated by the record label owned by Hollywood Actress, Issa Rae, Raedio and Derrick Jones (popular with the stage name DJ D-Nice). Other A-list acts on the inauguration playlist include Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and Stevie Wonder.
President of Raedio record label, Benoni Tagoe, expressed the company’s delight and honour towards creating the playlist for President-elect Biden, and Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris inauguration.
‘We know that music has the power to bring people together, and after a year of national challenges and division, we hope this collection serves as an indication of a new beginning, positive change, and a reminder that music of all types is a common language.’

Reacting to the playlist, Presidential Inaugural Committee CEO Tony Allen stated:
‘These songs and artists reflect the relentless spirit and rich diversity of America. They are the score to a new chapter and will help bring people together as the Biden-Harris Administration begins its important work to unite our country.’
Burna Boy, 29, has continued to stand out among other African artistes. Most of his songs have been sampled by global acts such as Beyonce, Jorja Smith, Fall Out Boys, and more. The self-acclaimed African Giant hit a remarkable height in 2020 after his ‘’Twice as Tall’’ album earned him a second nomination for the Grammys in the Best Global Music album category. Burna’s album “African Giant” also earned him a Grammy nomination for the same category in 2019.
