SSP as he is popularly called made this information known on Sunday, January 31, 2021, after sharing a video of his ordination ceremony on Instagram with the caption ‘‘Bishop with the swagger. God above all.”

Another post on his Facebook page saw the father of popular Nigerian music director, Clarence Peters, declare his will to serve God forever with the caption “To God be the glory. I will serve my God till the end’’.

It will be recalled that Shina Peter’s former partner with whom he bore Clarence Peters, Clarion Chukwuorah (Nollywood actor) was recently ordained an evangelist of the Christian faith. SSP’s last music track was a collaboration with Case crooner, Teni, on her hit ‘Jo’ which was released in December 2020.

His new move has been hailed by his friends/colleagues in the entertainment industry. Publisher of Ovation International magazine, Dele Momodu, congratulated the ace singer and revealed that they have rejected the devil.

‘Congratulations Bishop Isaac Oluwashina Akanbi Peters. Ore mi pataki pataki. A ti ko esu ati gbogbo ise buruku owo re sile (My very very dear friend. We have rejected the devil and all his evil works).’

Peters became a household name in the Nigerian music industry in 1989 after the release of his debut single album, Afro-Juju Series 1. The album would do double platinum and earmark SSP’s spot in the Nigerian music scenes.

In 1991, SSP would dominate the scenes once again after the release of ‘Shinamania’ which was produced by Laolu Akins. Shinamania would bag three awards at once with a Platinum Disc as over 250,000 copies were sold. Presently, the legendary musician has 16 albums to his credit.
