For most Nigerians, acquiring a landed property (whether for rent or purchase) involves a tedious process of negotiating with several estate agents who charge outrageous fees and paying for additional services that may not have been warranted in an organized setting. With the advent of Nigeria Property Centre, and other real estate agencies that have made property trade easier through the use of the internet, Nigerians can now breathe a breath of fresh because property can now be traded at the touch of a screen and in reasonable time.
Having an already existing website, Nigeria Property Centre launched its app, bringing real estate to our mobiles. Nigeria Property Centre has an in-depth coverage of over 20,000 properties in about 240 localities in Nigeria.
About The Founder
Nnamdi Chineme is a software developer who co-founded Parkway Projects, a financial tech company delivering software solutions and facilities for e-banking and e-payment services to financial institutions in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration in the UK where he worked thereafter as a Senior Solutions Architect at Experian (the world’s largest credit referencing agency). His wealth of experience in these areas has led him to found one of the premier property listings websites in Nigeria.
A Simple User Interface
The app by Nigeria Property Centre caters to two kinds of users: the agents and the people in search of property to either buy or run.
“User feedback is an important process of building the website and that’s what makes the difference in terms of the experience people have when searching for property”.
The app is truly user-friendly one. The home screen of the app is structured in such a way that there is a page for each property one is searching for and the specific localities in which they can be found. The options for property types, number of bedrooms, minimum and maximum prices are all listed and all the users can easily make their choice in about five minutes. People can also make use of the search panel to search for property listings available on the Nigeria Property Centre database.
The pictures and other details of property listed by estate agents are made available so that users can have an appraisal of what they are bargaining for. Once users are satisfied with a particular property, they can contact the estate agents directly via phone or email. Otherwise, they can always sign up for new email alerts when a new property becomes available or request for a property on the site. Estate agents also have an icon specially designed for them in the menu bar where they can view property listings available for sale and their price tags. All these features make it simple for estate agents and property seekers to transact property with ease.
An Organised System Of Transactions
Nigeria Property Centre has a system in place in which they are not directly involved in the transaction process between agents and customers. This is not the norm for most property listing sites which interface with agents and even list properties on their behalf.
“We believe the agents should be responsible for listing their property on the site and also taking it off when the property is no longer on the market.”
Nigeria Property Centre makes this possible by establishing a system where properties listed for rent are unpublished from the site after 30 days while properties for sale get a maximum of 90 days before they are unpublished. This ensures that properties with expired durations are not left on the app, especially when agents forget to remove these properties. The agents are, however, notified on such activities via emails.
Getting The App:
The app can be downloaded from Google Play store and is compatible with android versions from 4.1 and above at a downloadable size of 2.4MB. It has decent reviews with an impressive 4.3-star rating.
