The two Nigerian actors’ voices are used in the all-star voiced movie, alongside Hunger Games movie star, Josh Hutcherson, and Morena Baccarin of Dead pool 1 and 2. The Group managing director, Filmhouse Cinemas Nigeria, said about their groundbreaking inclusion in the film:
“Decisions and collaborations like these further show how much the world looks at Nollywood and how it is continuously making its mark. We hope for this to be a stepping stone for more to come.”
The film tells the story of Elliot, a reindeer, who with the help of his best friend, Hazel, sets out to prove himself a worthy replacement for one of Santa’s retired sleigh-pulling reindeers at the North Pole reindeer try-outs. With only 3 days to Christmas, the festive season appears doomed, but the two friends save the day and show that big dreams make big achievers and that no dream is too big if you follow your heart and believe in yourself.
AY, a renowned comedian and movie producer and actor, earned a Guinness World Record recognition for the film, ‘30 Days in Atlanta’ which was the highest grossing film in the year of its release.
Oboli is also an accomplished actress and filmmaker, with successful films like “Wives on Strike”, “Okafor’s Law” and the mega-successful “Wedding Party 2” to her credit.
According to a statement credited to Moses Babatope of FilmOne distribution:
“AY and Omoni are two very talented/groundbreaking Actors and Producers who we have had been very fortunate to work with on varied projects; it was only a natural fit for this especially with 2 actors which such strong family values and family is very important to us at FilmOne.
“Their inclusion as part of the cast for this movie portends great things for future collaboration between Nollywood and Hollywood.”
‘Elliot The Littlest Reindeer’ will be in cinemas around the world on Saturday, December 1.
