Home-Based Eagles Arrive USA For Mexico Clash

 

The home-based Eagles have arrived in Los Angeles, United States of America, for the international friendly match against Mexico on Sunday, July 4th, 2021.

After touching down the Tom Bradley International Airport, Los Angeles, the Nigerian team which is fully comprised of players plying their trade in the Nigerian domestic league except for 18-year-old CF Montreal forward, Ibrahim Sunusi, who joined up the rest of the squad in their hotel base, and Tottenham Hotspur’s U-23 goalkeeper, Joshua Oluwayemi who has replaced the injured Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal, are charged up to beat the Mexicans.

Mexico has been in superlative form lately, beating Panama 3-0 on Wednesday, July 1st, 2021, and are looking forward to their game against Nigeria as they continue preparations for the Concacaf Gold Cup.

Sunday’s game will be an avenue for coach Gernot Rohr who has been highly critical of players who play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), to notice the best as the Nigeria Football Federation continues with plans to build a formidable Super Eagles that comprise a blend of foreign-based stars with domestic league players.
