The estrogen levels in most women fluctuate rapidly and when the levels are too high or too low, they can cause weight gain or loss. Aside from this hormone, there are other hormones that play different roles in weight gain or loss in women and these hormones can be triggered by the kind of diet that a woman’s body feeds on.

In order to avoid certain medical consequences that are most times difficult to reverse, medical personnel advise that prevention is much better than cure and as a result, women should be intentional about the kinds of food they consume to increase the longevity of their lives.

The following list is the Top 10 foods to stay clear of as a woman.

Fufu comes from cassava and is 100% carbohydrate. Carbohydrate in form of starch has many health benefits. It provides unmatched energy to the body. Unfortunately, when the energy in the body is way more than the body can consume, it converts the energy to fat and fat unused and not needed is unhealthy and dangerous fat.

The adverse effect of this is self-explanatory. Asides from the obvious loss of mobile control, damage to the liver and mental impairment, Alcohol severely affects the reproductive health of a woman and can otherwise cause miscarriage.

Asides from the addictive edge of diet soda, these drinks cause a range of medical conditions that affect the heart badly. In addition, diet sodas are specifically harmful to pregnant women.

This is a hard nut to crack; a doughnut here and there is really not harmful. When this now turns excess and is used as comfort food. Baked goods can cause more harm than good. They are the number one culprit for obesity and unusually introduce high amounts of fat in the body.

Most processed foods contain MSG (also known as Monosodium Glutamate). Research showed that when consumed in large qualities, they were prone to cause brain defects and impaired growth and development.

A sweet tooth is not exactly a sweet tooth as far as science is concerned. A large amount of sugar in the bloodstream can cause irregular mood swings, raised estrogen levels and menstrual irregularities.
